DANCE ADVENTURE
PARENT MEETING

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2010
AT THE STUDIO

9:00 a.m. - RETURNING STUDENTS
10:30 a.m. - “FIRST SHOW” STUDENTS

Please be sure to attend the parent meeting on Sat. February 6, 2010 for information on our
upcoming show. There will not be any regular classes that day due to the parent meeting.
The confirmed show dates are Saturday, August 14 & Sunday, August 15 at the Carpenter
Center at CSULB. It is extremely important that everyone with a child in the show attend the
meeting to go over important information. In addition to costume information, we will
discuss rehearsals, pictures, cast party and other important details about the show. If you
absolutely cannot attend but would like to be in the show, you must schedule meeting time
with Heidi to go over the information.

Please be prepared to pay for the “basic” costume for each dance your child will be in. This
does not include all accessories, tights, shoes and/or additional trim for each costume (some
costumes will not require any accessories or additional trim not included in the basic
costume price). All dances will require the purchase of specific color & style of tights and
shoes. For costumes that need to be ordered, we will be placing the order the second week
of February to ensure delivery by pictures. We will need to have all “basic” costume
payments prior to our order. Shoes & tights and additional accessories will be paid for at a
later date. In some cases prices for costumes vary but are usually $50-$100 for non-
competition costumes and $100-$150 each for competition costumes.

Costume sizing: Please remember that costumes may be worn for over a year after the
show, so in most cases, order the next size up. Some samples will be available if you want
to bring your child to try on a sample or just bring your child’s measurements to the
meeting. If your child is not coming to the meeting, please bring his/her measurements
with you so that you may select the appropriate size.

If this is your first show, you probably have many questions, most of which will be answered
at the meeting. Please feel free to ask Heidi or Kimmi any questions you may have before,
during and after the meeting as well.

2010 SHOW “DANCE ADVENTURE”

The dates have been confirmed with the Carpenter Center for our 2010 show: Saturday,
August 14 and Sunday, August 15.

COSTUMES

Anyone in any of the upcoming performances must wear a costume in perfect condition.
Costumes worn for Halloween and/or dress-up will not be able to be worn in any of the
upcoming shows.

FOOD ZONE

Thank you for keeping all food and drinks in the “food area”. We appreciate your
cooperation!

DRESS CODE

Although the studio does not have specific style or color requirements, appropriate dance
wear and shoes must be worn to all classes. Hair must be up for all classes and denim is not
appropriate dance wear. Some classes such as ballet may have additional requirements
which will be announced in class.

COMPETITION CLASSES

Anyone enrolled in competition classes will need to complete a competition contract. They
are available at the desk. Most of the information is the same as the past. Ballet/technique
classes are now required for all competition students. Thank you to those of you who have
already turned yours in. Please let us know asap if you are in a competition class and do not
plan on competing so that we can find a better class for you and/or reform comp classes for
those who have turned in their papers.
